Director of Nursing - Substance Abuse Clinic

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations at a substance abuse clinic. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care to individuals undergoing treatment for substance abuse disorders. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients in need.
Key
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to the nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Develop and implement nursing care protocols and procedures tailored to the unique needs of patients receiving substance abuse treatment, with a focus on safety, effectiveness, and patient-centered care.
Collaborate with the medical director, clinical staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients, integrating nursing care with medical, behavioral health, and social services.
Ensure that nursing assessments, medication management, and other nursing interventions are performed in accordance with best practices and evidence-based standards of care.
Oversee medication-assisted treatment programs, including the administration and monitoring of medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, in compliance with regulatory requirements and clinical guidelines.
Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff on topics related to substance abuse treatment, addiction medicine, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program evaluations to assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions and identify areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, medical providers, administrative leadership, and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration to optimize patient care.
Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning among nursing staff, promoting a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and respect.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
At least 1 year in a leadership or management role in a healthcare setting, preferably in substance abuse treatment or behavioral health.
Previous experience in substance abuse or behavioral health preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of nursing professionals.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
