5K a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Alaris Health at Belgrove, a 120 bed-skilled nursing Center in Kearny, New Jersey, seeks a recreation assistant to plan, organize and direct resident activity programs, which may include varied an diversified programming for different cognitive levels of resident function from Wii competitions to bingo to coffee carts and everything in between.
Additional responsibilities include:
assisting in planning and promoting recreation based on individualized needs and interests and encouraging participation and engagement visiting bed-bound residents and non-participants and providing appropriate recreation services for them assisting with the daily radio program, monthly newsletter and recreation calendar assisting with volunteer program/appreciation set-up, admission assessments, clinical responsibilities and community interaction programs and above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes each individual's needs and rights JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school degree or equivalent and certification in accordance with regulatory agencies governing the Center Full command of the English language Excellent multi-tasking and communication skills Positive attitude and have great interaction with everyone from residents to the general public Comfortable working both as an individual contributor and part of a larger team.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
